Feel free to pass these specifications on to your fire place installer to ensure many years of safe and effective home heating.

 

Adhere to the right flue height and position


Single Flue Pipe Height

  • Maximum 4.5 m
  • Maximum 3 x 90 degree bends (i.e. 2 x T pieces)
  • Maximum 2 m horizontal run (at 5 degree pitch)
  • Minimum 3.5 m height (10 pa)

Double Flue Pipe Height (when the length of the flue pipe exceeds 4.5 m, whether the pipe is running indoors, in a chimney, or outside).

 

  • The maximum height of the double wall flue would be 10 metres indoors and 8 – 10 metres if running outside.
  • Double wall piping is always needed when the flue piping is running outdoors.
  • Minimum height of flue pipe is 3.5 metres. Maximum height is 10 metres. For every bend used, reduce the pipe maximum length by one metre.
  • It is forbidden to make fixed or mobile apertures on the flue pipe to connect appliances other than the one to which it is already connected.
  • It is forbidden to pass other air ducts or service pipes inside the flue pipe, however large it is.

Caulk the cavity and prevent heat loss

 

  • Caulking ensures no smoke is drawn back down into the room through the multi-fire system.
  • Caulking ensures no heat is lost in the chimney.

Provide fresh air in the right position via circulation vents

 

Log Multifire

 Log burning multi-fire systems can run up to a maximum of 10 metres in piping per stove or firebox, regardless of the number of motors connected to the system. However, if 2 motors are connected, you can run up to 10 metres on each motor if the motors are run independently and not at the same time.
 
Air can reach 125 degrees Celsius coming out of the vent, but cooling takes place very quickly when it comes into contact with ambient air. To ensure the system’s performance, ducting needs to be insulated with 2 cm of rock wool.
You can run up to 4 vents at one time, including the vent at the front of the firebox or stove.

Pellet Multifire

Pellet-burning multifire systems can run up to a maximum of 16 m of piping per stove or firebox, regardless of the number of motors connected. However, if 2 motors are connected, you can run up to 16 m on each motor if you run the motors independently and not at the same time.
 
The air can reach 160 degrees Celsius on exiting the vent, but it cools very quickly when coming into contact with ambient air. To ensure the system’s performance, ducting needs to be insulated with 2 cm of rock wool.
 
You can run up to 4 vents at one time, including the vent at the front of the firebox or stove.
